Air Fryer Garlic Butter Roasted Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz (450g) mushrooms (button mushrooms or cremini work well)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1.5 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer:
    • Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the mushrooms:
    • Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. You can also gently rinse them, but be sure to dry them well afterward.
    • If the mushrooms are large, you can halve or quarter them to ensure they cook evenly. For smaller mushrooms, you can leave them whole.
  3. Prepare the garlic butter mixture:
    • In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove.
    • Add the olive oil, minced garlic (or garlic powder), dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  4. Coat the mushrooms:
    • Place the mushrooms in a large bowl and pour the garlic butter mixture over them. Toss the mushrooms well so that they are evenly coated with the butter and seasonings.
  5. Air fry the mushrooms:
    • Arrange the mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket or tray. Avoid overcrowding to ensure they cook evenly.
    • Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket or stirring the mushrooms halfway through the cooking time to ensure they cook evenly.
  6. Check for doneness:
    • The mushrooms should be golden brown and tender when done. If you prefer them a bit more crispy, you can cook them for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve:
    • Once cooked, remove the mushrooms from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving dish. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley (optional) and serve immediately.
