Buttermilk Biscuits with Sausage Gravy

⭐Ingredients : 👇

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup cold buttermilk

Sausage Gravy

1 lb breakfast sausage

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 1/2 cups whole milk

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

Pour in the buttermilk and gently mix just until a soft dough forms.

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, pat it to about 1-inch thickness, and cut out biscuits.

Place biscuits on the baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

While the biscuits bake, cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Do not drain the fat.

Sprinkle flour over the sausage, stir well, and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.

Split the warm biscuits and spoon the sausage gravy generously over the top
