***Ingredients :
1 lb breakfast sausage
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 to 4 cups whole milk, warmed
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
Salt, to taste
***Instructions :
Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through. Do not drain the fat.
Sprinkle the flour evenly over the sausage and stir well to coat. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Gradually pour in 3 cups of warm milk while stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue stirring as the gravy thickens.
If the gravy becomes too thick, add more milk a little at a time until a creamy, pourable consistency is reached.
Season with seasoned salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper as needed.
Simmer gently for a few minutes, stirring frequently, until smooth and rich.
