Garlic Butter Steak Bites & Mash recipe

Ingredients

For the Steak Bites:

  • 1 lb (450 g) sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-size cubes
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

For the Mashed Potatoes:

  • 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup milk or cream (adjust for desired texture)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes
  2. Boil potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until tender.
  3. Drain and mash with butter and milk (or cream) until smooth.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
  5. Cook the Steak Bites
  6. Pat the steak cubes dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  7. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  8. Sear steak bites in batches (don’t overcrowd) for about 2 minutes per side until browned.
  9. Remove steak and set aside.
  10. In the same pan, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  11. Return steak bites to the pan and toss in the garlic butter for 1 minute.
  12. Serve

Plate the creamy mashed potatoes and top with garlic butter steak bites.

Garnish with chopped parsley and an extra drizzle of melted butter if desired. 😋
