Ingredients

  • 200g of cottage cheese, well-drained
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a clean surface, form the drained cottage cheese into stick shapes. Use your hands to shape firmly, ensuring they hold together.
  3. Prepare a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Roll each cheese stick in the flour, then dip it in the egg, and finally coat it completely with the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  5. Lightly spray the cheese sticks with cooking spray to ensure a crispy coating.
  6. Place the cheese sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer with space in between. You may need to cook in batches.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Chef’s Tips

  • Ensure the cottage cheese is well-drained to prevent the sticks from falling apart.
  • If the sticks are too soft to handle, refrigerate them for 15 minutes before breading.
  • Experiment with different seasonings in the breadcrumb mix for variety.
